Throughout December, this darkest month of the year, our practice community, In Good Company, will be exploring the theme of hope.
When the world feels uncertain and the challenges we face seem overwhelming, it can be difficult to remain hopeful. We may find ourselves caught between wishing things were different and feeling powerless to change them.
Hope is not necessarily the belief that everything will be okay. It can be something more grounded: a willingness to remain open to possibility, even when things are difficult.
What might it mean to have hope, even when we don't know how things will turn out?
At the heart of mindfulness practice is the possibility of finding greater freedom in how we meet our lives. Every time we practise, we're opening ourselves to the possibility that things needn't remain as they are.
Over the course of this month, we'll explore how to cultivate hope without turning away from life's difficulties. We'll consider what it means to remain hopeful in the face of uncertainty, and how hope can help us stay engaged with life, with one another and with the things that matter to us.
Hope in the Dark is part of In Good Company, our practice community for people who already have some experience of mindfulness. Regular live sessions with experienced teachers offer support for ongoing practice, deeper exploration and connection with others.
