An eight week mindfulness course (MBSR/MBCT) is the most common starting point for people learning to practice mindfulness. For many, the course results in life-changing learning that will serve them long after the course ends.
But what happens when the course ends? It can be easy for the momentum of our habits to take over and for the lessons we've learned to fade into the background without the structure and support of a group.
About the Course
Developed at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre, this course has been designed as a way for people to reconnect with and deepen their practice, and benefit from the guidance of a teacher and connection with fellow meditators.
Over 12 weekly sessions we revisit learning from the introductory programs and extend it through the intentional cultivation of kindness, joy, compassion and equanimity. These are the qualities of mindfulness which allow us to respond to whatever we are facing with care and understanding.
Throughout the course we’ll also explore how to move practice beyond meditation so that we can embody our strengths in our lives, extending mindfulness beyond an individual, isolated activity to a way of relating to and engaging with the people and the world around us.
