This eight week compassionate-based Mindful Eating Course is designed to help you develop a loving and kind relationship with both food and your body.
In this course, you will learn the key principles and practices of Mindful Eating and Self-Compassion. Guided by evidence that diets rarely work in the long term, this program teaches you how to enjoy tasty and nutritious food, care for the body you inhabit, and create a more meaningful, joyous life. The course will teach several tools so you can access inner wisdom about what, when, why, and how much to eat.
There will be practices throughout the course that include meditation, group discussion and experiential exercises. Over eight weeks you will:
- Reconnect to your innate wisdom about hunger and satisfaction;
- Free yourself from reactive patterns around food and eating;
- Learn how to nourish your body and heart;
- Be empowered to make healthier choices -- unlike dieting, which can lead to feelings of deprivation;
- Replace self-criticism with self-nurturing, forgiveness and compassion; and
- Shift your locus of control from external authorities to your inner wisdom.
Mindful Eating is not designed to help people to lose or gain weight. It does not provide a diet or exercise plan, nutritional advice and is not group therapy. Rather, it is a heartfelt programme designed to help participants create a better relationship with food; free from restriction, over-eating, guilt and fear. The course is based on principles of self-compassion and love for the body.
