About the Evening

This introduction to mindfulness will combine meditation exercises with an overview of the theory behind how the practice leads to real and sustainable change.

You will leave with...

- a better understanding of what mindfulness is and how it can be trained;
- an introduction to the science and evidence-base behind mindfulness;
- an understanding of how we can break the stress-reaction cycle that keeps us locked in old habits and unsustainable states; and
- practical tools to incorporate mindfulness into your everyday life.

There is an ever-growing body of empirical evidence showing that mindfulness can help us self-regulate our moods and thoughts, become more resilient in the face of stress and challenges, make us more productive and effective, and restore a sense of calm and balance to our lives.

This workshop will help you understand how these changes come about and how you can begin to incorporate a mindfulness practice in your own life. The evening will be experiential, combining mindfulness practices, group discussion and didactic teaching.
