This introduction to mindfulness will combine meditation exercises with an overview of the theory behind how the practice leads to real and sustainable change. 
 
You will leave with... 
- a better understanding of what mindfulness is and how it can be trained; 
- insight into the science of how it changes not only our minds, but also our brains; 
- an understanding of how we can break the stress-reaction cycle that keeps us locked in old habits and unsustainable states; and 
- practical tools to incorporate mindfulness into your everyday life. 
 
There is an ever-growing body of empirical evidence showing that mindfulness can help us self-regulate our moods and thoughts, become more resilient in the face of stress and challenges, make us more productive and effective, and restore a sense of calm and balance to our lives. 
 
This workshop will help you understand how these changes come about and how you can incorporate a mindfulness practice in your own life. It’s also an opportunity to relax and reconnect in a beautiful space overlooking Fitzroy Square (near Warren Street).
