About the Course
The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme helps people develop practical ways of meeting stress, anxiety and the pressures of everyday life.
You learn and practise alongside others, with opportunities to reflect together and receive guidance from an experienced teacher.
Through guided meditation, home practice and practical exercises, you learn to become more aware of habitual reactions to stress and difficulty, and to respond in ways that are more helpful to you in the longer term.
Key learning points include:
- Learning a range of formal and informal mindfulness practices.
- Understanding how stress affects the body and mind, and learning to respond more skilfully in challenging situations.
- Recognising habitual patterns of worry, self-criticism and reactivity that can add to stress.
- Developing a more accepting and compassionate way of relating to yourself and your experience.
