About the Course

The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) programme is the most recognised and established mindfulness course, taught all over the world, and scientifically proven to help people cope better with stress, depression and anxiety. 

The online course consists of eight, 2-hour sessions and a full-day retreat. Through guided meditations, group dialogue, individually tailored instructions and home assignments, you will learn the essential principles of mindfulness and techniques to build your personal home practice and access the wide-ranging benefits well beyond the course.  

The key learning points include:

  • A variety of formal and informal mindfulness meditation practices, which involve using the breath and body as a focus for being aware of our experience in the present moment;
  • Understanding the physiology of stress and how to self-regulate our moods, so that we are better able to pause in challenging situations and manage our responses more effectively;
  • Recognising the patterns of worrying and self-criticism that often generate more stress; and learning to relate to ourselves with a more accepting and kind stance;
  • Learning to have more mindful, and thus meaningful, communication, connections and relationships; and
  • Developing practical self-care tools to help us thrive, perform at our best, and build resilience.

Course Materials

  • A detailed electronic version of our course workbook, which will cover the theory of each session and provide details of the home practice;
  • Two sets of downloadable guided meditations (male/female voice) for the home practice;
  • Access to The Mindfulness Project app for easier access to the audio files and workbook;
  • The course teacher and administrators are also available for any urgent questions that come up between the sessions.

Notes:

  • This course will be held live on a web-based platform (Zoom). 
  • The teacher and participants will be live and visible at various times. There will be group and one-to-one interaction as you would expect in a traditional classroom setting. Do contact us (friend@londonmindful.com) if you'd like to check out/test the online platform & your internet connection beforehand.
  • Registrants will receive additional details a few days before the first session.
  • This course is not offered as a treatment for any specific psychological or physical conditions. The course may not be suitable for people experiencing severe difficulties, for more information please see our FAQs or email us if you would like to discuss before booking.
  • As part of the booking process participants are required to complete a personal history questionnaire, and a follow-up call may be arranged. If during this call there is a mutual decision that the course isn't suitable at this time, a full refund will be given.

  • Webcam and microphone,
